What are the buttons and symbols in the Strategy Builder

An explanation of every button and symbol in the Strategy Builder.

Indicator symbols

Each indicator has a row of symbols on the right side:

! (exclamation mark)

• Green — this is a necessary buy signal. A signal from this indicator is required to open a position.
• Black — not a necessary buy or sell signal.
• Red — this is a necessary sell signal. A signal from this indicator is required to open or close a position.

Settings symbol Opens the configuration menu for that specific indicator.

Duplicate symbol Duplicates the indicator. Useful when you want to use the same indicator (e.g. MACD) for both buy and sell signals.

X Removes the indicator or candlestick pattern.

Hamburger button (left side) Drag indicators up or down to reorder them. This has no effect on strategy performance — it is purely for organisation.

Testing

Two ways to test your strategy:

Quick check Select your exchange and market (e.g. USDT/BTC) and click "Quick check". Results appear immediately — the bottom left shows the total number of buy and sell signals generated, and the bottom right shows each individual signal.

Backtest Takes slightly longer to run. Shows the same results as Quick check. Note: both testing options are less in-depth and customisable than the full Backtester.

Other buttons

Designer

Shows an overview of all your indicators and candlestick patterns.

Code

Edit your indicator using JSON code. Use with caution — mistakes can disrupt your strategy. Note: it is not possible to change how technical indicators fundamentally function through code.

Delete Permanently deletes the strategy. This action cannot be undone.

Close Returns you to the designer. Make sure to save before closing.
