How to connect to Bittrex
To allow your bot to interact with Bittrex, you will need to create an API Key. This key acts as a connection between Cryptohopper and the exchange, enabling your bot to perform tasks such as placing automated orders and accessing your balance for its calculations. Essentially, the API Key serves as a way for your bot to communicate with the exchange and execute the actions necessary for automated trading.
Step one
Go to Bittrex and login or create an account.
Step two
You might need to verify yourself. This is to prevent money laundering. When you're at the homepage of your Bittrex account, click on your email address in the upper right corner, then “Account settings” and then on "My profile". Fill in the required fields and you're done!
Step three
You will have to activate two-factor authentication (2FA) before you're able to create API Keys. You can activate the two-factor authentication under “My Account” then click “Two-Factor Authentication”
Step four
With your 2FA set up, go to “API Keys” which is shown below the settings of Two-Factor Authentication. Click on "Create New API Key" and enable "read info"and "trade". Fill in your authentication code and click “Continue”. In the interest of your security as a Cryptohopper customer, we do not want withdrawal permissions!
Step five
Add the API to Cryptohopper. Paste the API Key and API Secret into the fields shown in Cryptohopper and click on "Connect to Bittrex".
Unable to see your exchange balance?
If you are unable to see your exchange balance, there may be a few issues preventing your bot from synchronizing with your exchange. One common cause is "auto-fill" being enabled in your browser. To fix this, you can try disabling auto-fill, using incognito mode, using a different browser, or disabling your password manager.
