How to connect to Coinbase Advanced

To enable seamless interaction between your bot and Coinbase Advanced, Cryptohopper offers two options. You can either utilize Fast Connect, which involves logging in with your Coinbase Advanced account directly on Cryptohopper (the most convenient option), or create an API Key. Both methods establish a secure connection between Cryptohopper and the exchange, empowering your bot to perform essential tasks such as automated order placement and access to balance information for precise calculations.

Fast Connect Coinbase Advanced

Thanks to Coinbase's OAuth solution, Cryptohopper can offer Fast Connect. Fast Connect is the most convenient option to connect to your exchange and is similar to the "Login with Facebook" button you see on many websites. If you don't have a Coinbase account yet, you can follow the same steps to get started.

1. Select Coinbase Advanced as your preferred exchange.
2. Click on "Fast Connect" and Log in with Your Coinbase Advanced account: With a single click on the Fast Connect button, you'll be directed to log in to your Coinbase Advanced account securely or you can create an account on Coinbase.
3. Enter your Coinbase login details in the pop-up provided by Coinbase.
4. Complete 2FA (Two-Factor Authentication) and Browser Authorization: For an added layer of protection, you'll be prompted to enter your 2FA code. Additionally, if you're using an unfamiliar browser, you'll need to authorize it on Coinbase.
5. Observe Your Funds Becoming Visible in Cryptohopper: Once you've successfully completed the onboarding process on Cryptohopper, your Coinbase Advanced funds will become visible, and you're all set to start trading.

Create API Keys on Coinbase Advanced

Start trading on Coinbase Advanced by creating API Keys:

Step One.

If you haven’t already, got to Coinbase’s website and create an account.

Step Two.

Verify your account and get started on the API by navigating to API.

Step Three.

Click on “New API Key” and enter your 2FA.

Step Four.

Click on “All accounts”.

Step Five.

Select all permissions, except for:

• wallet:checkouts:create
• wallet:payment-method:limits
• wallet:transactions:request
• wallet:transactions:transfer
• wallet:withdrawals:create
• wallet:notifications:read
• wallet:transaction:send
• wallet:user:email

Step Six.

To connect your Coinbase account with Cryptohopper, you'll need to copy the API Key and API Secret displayed on Coinbase and paste them into the corresponding fields on Cryptohopper. Once you've done this, be sure to save your Base config settings.

Step Seven.

Your API Key and secret have been created, but please note that they cannot be used for trading just yet. Unfortunately, Coinbase's API Key policy requires a waiting period of 48 hours before your keys become active. You will receive an email notification from Coinbase as soon as your keys are enabled. In the meantime, you can view your funds on Cryptohopper.

If you believe that Coinbase's API Key Policy should be changed to allow for immediate activation of API keys, we encourage you to take action. Unable to see exchange balance

If you are unable to see your exchange balance, there may be a few issues preventing your hopper from synchronizing with your exchange. One common cause is "auto-fill" being enabled in your browser. To fix this, you can try disabling auto-fill, using incognito mode, using a different browser, or disabling your password manager.
