What are Analyses

An explanation of the two main types of market analysis used in trading.

Fundamental Analysis

With Fundamental Analysis, you try to determine the real or intrinsic value of a currency. This involves examining factors such as use cases, number of transactions, economic conditions, the development team, coding activity, inflationary or deflationary supply mechanics, competitors, and more.

Technical Analysis

With Technical Analysis, you analyse past market data to forecast price patterns and direction. This involves studying price and trading volume using Technical Indicators — mathematical calculations based on historical asset data that provide insights into potential future price movement.

For more information on Technical Indicators, see What are Technical Indicators. To learn how to read the Charts page, see How to read the Charts page.
