Copy bot

Copy bot config#

Basic settings#

Name

Give your Copy Bot a name to identify this bot when you have more than 1 trading bot.

Portfolio sync

When your copy bot is enabled, it will create your portfolio based precisely on the Marketplace Seller’s portfolio. If, for some reason, you miss a buying opportunity, your bot will try to rebuy the currency until your portfolio equals the portfolio of the Copy Bot.

When the copy bot is disabled, it can take some time before trades get opened.

Walletscrubber

When enabled, your Copy Bot will try to adjust the sell amount to include any dust amount left on the balance when selling your last or only position of a currency.

Exchange#

API Keys

When trading with real funds, you can connect to your exchange by filling in the API Keys.

Paper trading

When paper trading is enabled, you will trade using simulated funds. When this feature is disabled, you will trade using real funds. To trade using real funds from your exchange, you need to enter the API Keys of your exchange.

API Keys

API Keys provide information and trading permission between Cryptohopper and your exchange. Your funds will always remain safely on your exchange. If your API Keys are incorrect, it will be shown by error messages in your Copy Bot output. For more information about creating API Keys, click here.

Use ticker rate

  • The ticker rate determines at what price level the Copy Bot will place orders.

  • If you select “Same As,” your Copy Bot will use the settings of your selected Marketplace Seller (Recommended).

  • The “Highest bid/Lowest ask” setting takes the highest bidding rate and lowest asking rate when placing an order.

  • Use “Last tick if higher lower takes the last tick”, if the last tick is higher than the normal buy/sell rate.

  • Finally, the “always use last tick” option will take the last tick's price, regardless of price fluctuations.

Buy settings#

marketplace copy bot

Copy order type

If you want to follow the Marketplace Seller’s buy settings completely, enable this setting.

Order type

Market orders always get filled immediately.

Limit orders will only get filled when the set price has been reached. If limit orders don’t get filled within your “Max open time”, then your Copy Bot will retry buying the position up to 3 times.

Percentage bid

You can enter a percentage here if you want to make lower or higher bids for your buy orders systematically. For example, if the lowest ask for a currency is 1, and you configure 1 (%) lower bid here, then your bot will place an order for the price of 0.99. If you enable this setting, you should also check that your 'Max open time buy' is high enough.

Max open time buy

This setting refers to the number of minutes a buy order will remain open before the order is cancelled.

Minimum {quote currency selected by user} amount per order

This determines the minimum amount for buy orders when you do not have sufficient funds to place an order according to the Seller's order size (in %).

Maximum {quote currency selected by user) amount allocated

This is the maximum amount the bot may use from your total assets. For example, if you have 1 BTC and enter 0.5 here, your Copy Bot will only be able to use 0.5 BTC.

Sell settings#

marketplace copy bot

Copy order type

If you want to completely follow the Marketplace Seller’s sell settings, enable this setting.

Order type

Market orders always get filled immediately.

Limit orders will only get filled when the set price has been reached. If limit orders don’t get filled within your “Max open time”, then the Copy Bot will retry selling the position up to 3 times.

Percentage ask

You can set a percentage if you want to sell your currency for more profit than its current market rate. For example, if the highest bid for a currency is 1 and you configure a 1 (%) higher ask here, then it will place a sell order for the price of 1.01. If you enable this setting, you should also check that your 'Max open time sell' is long enough.

Max open time sell

This refers to the number of minutes a sell order remains open before the order is cancelled.

Copy Bot Dashboard#

Chart

The chart on the Dashboard shows how much your portfolio is worth in your quote currency, and shows the average profits of closed trades on a specific day, week, or month.

Trades last 30 days

The statistics included here are based on the trades of the last 30 days.

Open orders#

The open orders show all the buy and sell orders of your Copy Bot. These orders come from the Marketplace Seller that you’re copying.

Open positions#

The open positions tab shows all your open positions. The information on the Dashboard includes currency, amount, cost, result, and age. The info button shows additional information of your open positions.

The action “Remove” allows you to exclude a position from your Copy Bot. However, the position you removed is still available on the exchange.

Copy Bot enabled/disabled#

When the Copy Bot is enabled, the positions’ profits & losses will be checked, and your buy & sell orders can be placed.

When the Copy Bot is disabled, the positions’ profits & losses do not get updated and the Copy Bot will not place buy & sell orders. If you disable the Copy Bot, you will still own the currencies on your exchange.

Sell positions and stop#

This feature lets you sell your positions and stop your Copy Bot subscription. There are two options.

The "sell all & stop Copy Bot” will sell all your positions and stop your subscription. Please be patient as selling all positions could take a few minutes or more. You can use “Use market orders” to speed up the process.

“Stop without selling” will only stop your subscription. When using this option, you will need to sell your positions manually on your exchange.

Stats#

Current profits

Current profit shows the difference between your “Start balance” and “Total in assets on exchange”. If you want to reset the Current profit, such as when you deposit extra funds on your exchange account, first change your “Start balance”.

Total in assets on exchange

The total in assets shows all the funds of your exchange that have a trading pair with your quote currency. If you manually buy other currencies on the exchange that don’t have a trading pair with your quote currency, keep in mind that the value won’t be taken into account.

Convert to BTC

Convert to BTC (or another quote currency you’re using) allows you to convert your currencies into your quote currencies.

Current assets

The current assets show all the currencies you currently own on the exchange.

Troubleshooting Copy Bot#

It is easy to troubleshoot your Copy Bot if it’s not trading.

Subscription#

The Copy Bot needs a subscription from one of Cryptohopper’s Marketplace Sellers. All Copy Bot subscriptions are shown here. You can prolong your subscription through the Marketplace if your subscription has expired.

Enable Copy Bot on Dashboard#

New trades will only be opened when the Copy Bot is enabled on your Dashboard.

API Keys#

API Keys allow sending information and trade permission between Cryptohopper and your exchange. Your funds will always remain safely on your exchange. If your API Keys are incorrect, it will display error messages in your Copy Bot output. For more information how to create API Keys, click here.

Funds#

You should see your exchange funds when you have enabled the Copy Bot and checked the Subscriptions and API Key. There are two different spots where you can see your funds. The first is on top of your Dashboard under "Total assets on exchange". Here, all your funds that have trading pairs with your quote currency will be taken into account. This amount could be lower than what you see on your exchange. In addition, some exchanges have Main wallets and Trading wallets, so make sure that your funds are shown in your trading wallet.

Config Settings#

There are a few config settings that can impact your trading. For example, if you have a small amount of funds on the exchange in combination with a low “Maximum BTC amount allocated”, it can result in the Copy Bot not placing orders.

If you’re using high percentages for “Percentage bid” or “percentage ask”, it can result in your orders not getting filled on the exchange. Additionally, when using a very short “Max open time buy” or Max open time sell,” it can result in orders not getting filled.

Output errors#

The Copy Bot output will explain why your Copy Bot can’t place orders on your exchange. The most common reasons will be incorrect API Keys, or not enough funds available for trading. Please contact support if an output message is unclear.

Copy Bot Trade history#

Your trade history overviews all the buy and sell trades you’ve made.

Search

The search bar is the first option shown when you click on Trade History. Search for specific trades in the past or check all your trades of a particular currency.

Advanced Search

The Advanced search is on the right side of the search bar. With the Advanced search, users can check for only sells or only buys, as well as trades in a specific time frame.

Export

Many traders prefer to do some analysis themselves. Cryptohopper allows you to export your trades in Excel, CSV, or PDF. This step can help quickly analyse your trading results as shown in the Buy Order ID and Sell Order ID. Don't you see your trade history? Check the time frame of the trade history you want to download.

Currency

The currency column tells you which currencies you have traded.

Trading Pair

On Cryptohopper, you always trade from one quote currency. The most-used quote currencies are BTC and USDT. We recommend that new users use stable coins (USDT, USD, EUR) first because it’s easier to distinguish how much profit you’ve made compared to the value of the quote currency.

Type

The type shows you whether the order was a buy or sell.

Date

The date shows when the buy or sell took place. You can use this information to check your Copy Bot output and find out what happened exactly with the trade. Checking the Copy Bot output is an excellent tool for troubleshooting, since it always shows why the Copy Bot is or isn't opening/closing a position.

Amount

The amount shows how much of the specific currency has been bought or sold. The buy amounts can be determined in the base config.

Rate

The rate shows you how much you have paid in your quote currency per currency of the specific currency. As mentioned earlier, using a stable coin will make checking the differences in buy/sell rates for the same currency easier.

Fee

The fee shows how much you paid in your quote currency for the trade. Many exchanges, including KuCoin (KuCoin Shares, KCS), OKEx (OK Blockchain Foundation, OKB), and Binance (Binance Chain, BNB) have additional options to save money on the Maker and Taker fee when using or holding their token. Other exchanges, such as HitBTC, KuCoin, and Coinbase Pro have tiered fee systems, meaning that the more you trade, the more you will save on trading fees.

You can find more information on this page about the fees for all exchanges. Click on the exchange you want to know more about and select "Fees" in the upper right corner. The fees will be added to the Trade history with a slight delay compared to the other trade details. This is because the Copy Bot first has to receive all information; it could be that your order has been partially filled. The average of all partial fills will result in the trading fees shown in the Copy Bots' Trade history.

Total

The total shows you how much you have paid in total: Rate * Amount = Total.

You can always confirm the total trade amounts by checking the trade history on the exchange itself.

Result

The result shows your profit or loss of a trade. It is calculated as: ( Total sell value / total buy value ) = Result.

Remove Trade History

Your trading history cannot be totally removed. If you want to start with an empty trade history, you could save your existing Copy Bot template and load it into a new one. Don't forget to assign your subscription to it as well by clicking on "View all hoppers" and then on "Subscriptions" (upper right corner). The old trading history will be deleted when you delete your Copy Bot.

Make changes in the Trade history

It is impossible to adjust data in the Trade history shown on Cryptohopper itself. However, if you want to make changes to the Trade history, you can export the file in either PDF, CSV, or Excel.

Marketplace Copy Bot#

Cryptohopper’s Marketplace connects you with many Experienced Traders that you can copy. These bot types are called Copy Bots. Best of all, there are no difficult configurations, making Copy Bots the best bot type for beginning traders.

marketplace copy bot

You can search based on sorting and filter options, including your exchange or the quote currency you want to use. The quote currency is the currency used to place buy orders. For selling positions, Cryptohopper will convert the funds back into your quote currency. The most common quote currencies are EUR, USD, USDT, and BTC.

marketplace copy bot

When clicking on a Copy Bot, a lot of extra information about the bot itself and the Marketplace Seller is available. For example, you can see how many users are copying a seller and how much a subscription costs per month. When using a Copy Bot, you only need a Copy Bot subscription, as shown in the screenshot above.
